Matthew is a new addition to the Tipping Point team who previously worked as a youth support worker in a group home setting before entering into his current position as a Behavioural Consultant. Matthew is an ongoing student of psychology with plans to pursue his graduate studies and earn a master’s degree in counselling psychology.
Matthew holds a specific interest in evidence-based addiction recovery and through his university studies has worked towards a better of understanding substance use treatment models. Through this study he has been confronted with the inexorable link between childhood trauma and subsequent struggles in addiction. It is his hope to better support young victims of trauma and equip them with the foundational social and emotional coping skills needed to avoid a life of substance use problems. It is through caring and reciprocal relationships that we find ourselves and grow.
